A quasi due mesi di distanza dalla premiere di successo di El Juez presso il Mariinsky di San Pietroburgo, Josep Carreras torna nuovamente in Russia, questa volta a Mosca, in occasione del grande concerto che offrirà al Palazzo del Cremlino il prossimo sabato, 14 marzo: sarà accompagnato dal soprano Venera Gimadieva, dall'Orchestra Sinfonica di Mosca diretta dal Maestro David Giménez.

Il tenore è atterrato nella capitale nella notte tra martedì e mercoledì, ora locale, e dopo non molte ore di sonno, attorno a mezzodì si era presentato alla conferenza stampa che ha avuto luogo nell'hotel in cui soggiorna.

Da quanto risulta (l'articolo ovviamente è in russo, quindi non sono esenti eventuali fraintendimenti), Carreras ha recentemente curato i sintomi del raffreddamento bevendo molto tè, con lampone e con un po' di aspirina, ma con moderazione per evitare effetti indesiderati. In così tanti anni di carriera, dovendo viaggiare continuamente, ha imparato sapientemente a curarlo in poco tempo.

Come di consueto, ha espresso la propria felicità di essere tornato in Russia, in una città di grande cultura come Mosca. Dopo il suo concerto al Cremlino, il suo tour europeo proseguirà in Irlanda, Svizzera, Lussemburgo e Italia: intende continuare ad accontentare il suo pubblico finché ne avrà la possibilità.

Nel corso dell'intervista, Carreras cita la sua musica, opera e ancora opera, e un posto speciale è riservato alla tradizione russa con grandi compositori come Tchajkovsky: confessa di amare l'Eugene Onegin non meno di Carmen.

Confessa una predilezione per il soprano Anna Netrebko, e non può fare a meno di ricordare la carissima collega recentemente scomparsa, Elena Obratzsova: di quest'ultima ammirava la tenerezza, il genio artistico e la gentilezza che caratterizzano "l'anima russa" che tanto gli fa tornare alla memoria il loro ultimo concerto a Milano.

Oltre alla musica, ama il suo paese, che visita non da turista ma come un qualsiasi nativo, e la sua casa di Barcellona, presso la quale si sente felice. Tra gli altri interessi cita la lettura, la pittura e specialmente il calcio e la sua squadra del cuore, il FC Barcelona. Ama inoltre passare del tempo con gli amici, con i quali discute di basket, uno sport che ha praticato a scuola da ragazzo e nel quale riusciva bene, nonostante la statura non esattamente ideale. Infine, afferma di avere altri hobby, ma è quasi un mistero... dice di essere audace, da esperto giocatore di poker e amante del casinò.

Almost two months after the successful premiere of El Juez at the Mariinsky, Josep Carreras is back again in Russia, this time in Moscow, on the occasion of the great concert he will offer the Kremlin Palace next Saturday, March 14: he will be joined by soprano Venera Gimadieva, and the Moscow Symphony Orchestra conducted by the Maestro David Gimenez.

The tenor landed in the capital during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, local time, and after not really many hours of sleep, around noon he joined the press conference that took place at the hotel itself where he stays.

As it seems to be reported (the article is obviously in Russian, so a misunderstanding could be possible), Carreras has recently handled the symptoms of cold by drinking a lot of tea, with raspberry and with a little of aspirin, but in moderation in order to avoid side effects. In so many years of career, forced to travel all the time, he learned to handle and get well briefly.

During the interview, as usual, he expressed his happiness to be back in Russia, in a city of great culture like Moscow. After his concert at the Kremlin, his European tour will continue in Ireland, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Italy: he is going to keep pleasing his audience as long as he has the opportunity to do so.

Then, Carreras mentioned his favourite music, opera and more opera, and a special place is reserved for the Russian tradition with great composers like Tchaikovsky: as he pointed out, he does not love Eugene Onegin less than Carmen.

Though it's very difficult for him to express any preference regarding Russian artists, with whom he shared the scene in many occasions,  he confessed a special appreciation for soprano Anna Netrebko, and then he could not help but remember his dear colleague, Elena Obratzsova, recently passed away: he admired her tenderness, the artistic genius and kindness that make up the "Russian soul", which reminds him their last concert in Milan.

Besides music, he loves his country, which he visits not as a tourist but as any native instead, and his house of Barcelona, ​​in which he feels happy. Among his other interests, he focused on reading, painting and especially on football and his favorite team, FC Barcelona. He also likes spending some time with friends, with whom he discusses about basketball, a sport he had practiced at school as a teenager, which he was good at, despite his height was not exactly ideal for that. Finally, he claimed to have further hobbies, but it is almost a mystery... he is daring, like any expert poker player and casino lover.
