Josep Carreras regala una notte indimenticabile a Matera con l'apertura del suo nuovo tour

Dopo un mese di luglio molto italiano, Josep Carreras ha fatto ritorno in Italia per il concerto evento a Matera, tenutosi al Parco del Castello Tramontano la scorsa domenica 13 settembre alle ore 21. Al suo fianco il soprano materano Antonella Rondinone, il clarinettista Rocco Debernardis, il pianista Lorenzo Bavaj e il direttore Roberto Molinelli, alla guida dell'orchestra Saverio Mercadante. A presentare la serata il celebre personaggio televisivo Michele Mirabella.

Con un giorno di anticipo si è svolta la conferenza stampa che presentava l'evento che coincideva con l'apertura del nuovo tour del tenore catalano, il quale si è detto molto felice di visitare Matera per la prima volta e non in veste di turista, portando un repertorio molto vario che lo riporta alle sue origini mediterranee.

Lo stesso sabato ha ricevuto in dono una poltrona in pelle nominata José in suo onore, dalla compagnia materana Ego Italiano, per commemorare il grande evento: ringraziando per il dono e complimentandosi per la qualità, ha dichiarato che l'avrebbe sistemata presso la sua residenza viennese.

Lunghe e calorose ovazioni hanno scandito quello che per i materani è stato un evento indimenticabile e che ha sollevato la questione della riapertura del teatro della città lucana, auspicabilmente senza attendere il 2019, anno in cui sarà Capitale Europea della Cultura.

Carreras ha reso omaggio alla Belle Époque e alla passionalità italiana con La Serenata di Tosti e i grandi brani della tradizione classica partenopea come Era de Maggio, Vurria, Passione o la disarmante Core 'ngrato in chiusura, scia su cui ha insistito anche l'orchestra con un bellissimo trittico di apertura costituito da 'O sole mio, Santa Lucia luntana e Funiculì Funiculà. Presente anche l'atmosfera latina con Lejana tierra mía, e un classico interpretato nella propria lingua madre quale T'estimo di Grieg. 

L'opera è stata affidata alla voce lirica materana di Antonella Rondinone, che ha interpretato un'aria del Faust di Gounod, insieme ad altri repertori come quello napoletano con Reginella, il musical, scelto anche da Carreras che ha concluso la prima parte con The impossible dream, con Think of me da The Phantom of the Opera, quello sacro in un sublime duetto con Carreras nell'Ave Maria di Schubert, e addirittura l'operetta con Tu che m'hai preso il cor (Dein ist mein ganzes Herz) e Lippen Schweigen da La Vedova Allegra, quest'ultima in un altro squisito duetto.

Anche il clarinettista Rocco Debernardis ha deliziato il pubblico interpretando Oblivion di Astor Piazzolla, e Roberto Molinelli ha diretto una composizione propria dedicata al grande Leonard Bernstein, Leonard Overture.

Il concerto si è concluso con quattro bis, ma prima della ripresa con la seconda parte del programma ufficiale lo sponsor Amaro Lucano ha voluto omaggiare Carreras con una bottiglia della collezione Magnum.

After a very Italian month of July, Josep Carreras returned to Italy for this concert event in Matera, held at Parco del Castello Tramontano last Sunday, September 13, 9pm. At his side, the Materan soprano Antonella Rondinone, clarinettist Rocco Debernardis, pianist Lorenzo Bavaj and Roberto Molinelli conducting the Saverio Mercadante Orchestra. Renowed TV host Michele Mirabella moderated the evening.

One day before took place the press conference for the the event, which actually was the opening of the new tour of the Catalan tenor, who said that he was very happy to visit Matera for the first time and not as a tourist, offering a varied repertoire that brings him back to his Mediterranean roots. Still on Saturday he was honored with a leather armchair, specially named José because of him, by the Materan company EgoItaliano, to commemorate such extraordinary event event: he thanked for the gift and congratulated for the quality, and said he would placed it at his Viennese residence.

Flowers and long, warm ovations chanted what for Matera was a really unforgettable evening, which raised the issue of the reopening of the theater, hopefully with no need to wait until 2019, when Matera will be European Capital of Culture.

Josep Carreras made a tribute to Belle Epoque and the Italian passion with La Serenata by Tosti and the great songs of the Neapolitan classical tradition, such as Era de Maggio, Vurria, Passione or the disarming as ever Core 'ngrato, awake on which the orchestra insisted as well, with a beautiful opening triptych consisting of 'O sole mio, Santa Lucia luntana, and Funiculì Funiculà. There was also a Latin atmosphere with Lejana tierra mía, and a classic in his mother tongue such as T'estimo by Grieg. Opera was entrusted to the Materan soprano voice, Antonella Rondinone, who sang an airia from Gounod's Faust, along with other repertoires such as the Neapolitan one with Reginella, musical, also chosen by Carreras who closed the first part with The impossible dream, with Think of Me from The Phantom of the Opera, the sacred with a sublime duet with Carreras of Schubert's Ave Maria, and even operetta with Dein ist mein ganzes Herz and Lippen Schweigen from The Merry Widow, the latter in another exquisite duet.

The clarinettist Rocco Debernardis delighted the audience too by playing Oblivion by Astor Piazzolla, and Roberto Molinelli conducted a composition of his own dedicated to the great Leonard Bernstein, Leonard Overture.

The concert ended with four encores, but before the beginning of the the second part, the main sponsor Amaro Lucano wanted to honor Carreras with a special bottle of the Magnum collection.
