JOSEP CARRERAS - GERMAN TOUR: MANNHEIM, 31 OCTOBER 2016

La sera di lunedì si è tenuto il sesto e ultimo concerto di ottobre del German Tour di Josep Carreras presso la Mozartsaal del Mannheim Rosengarten: come nei concerti precedenti, il tenore è stato accompagnato dal soprano Venera Gimadieva e dall'Orchestra Sinfonica di Praga guidata dal maestro David Giménez.

Un successo straordinario nonostante le condizioni di salute poco favorevoli di Carreras a causa di un forte raffreddore: la tosse e altri segnali evidenti già nella prima parte sono stati confermati ufficialmente prima della ripresa con un annuncio che richiedeva il supporto morale del pubblico per il tenore che, nonostante tutto, era intenzionato a proseguire il concerto. Il pubblico non ha fatto mancare il sostegno e le ovazioni entusiastiche in piedi a un artista, un uomo che per tutta la vita non ha fatto altro che guadagnarsi l'ammirazione delle persone e che, dall'alto di una carriera leggendaria, si è mostrato esemplare ancora una volta, lottando con ogni nota in un'epoca in cui le cancellazioni di recite e concerti sono all'ordine del giorno senza troppi scrupoli.

Nonostante tutto il programma si è mantenuto identico a quello degli appuntamenti precedenti, fatta eccezione del primo brano della seconda parte. Tre encores alla fine: Chitarra Romana, O mio babbino caro e Non ti scordar di me. 

Ammirevole Carreras e la giovane collega, Venera Gimadieva che non solo è magnifica sotto ogni punto di vista, ma insieme al pubblico ha mostrato un riguardo particolare verso il tenore rimasto eroicamente sul palco fino alla fine.

The sixth and final concert (in October, the last one in January) of the Josep Carreras' German Tour Josep Carreras Tour took place last monday, 31 October, at the Mozartsaal of the Mannheim Rosengarten: as in his previous concerts, the tenor was accompanied by soprano Venera Gimadieva and Prague Symphony Orchestra conducted by maestro David Giménez.

An extraordinary success despite Carreras' unfavorable health conditions due to a bad cold: his cough and olther signals already in the first part were officially confirmed before the beginning of the second one with an announcement which called for the moral support of the public towards the tenor who, despite everything, was determined to continue the concert. 

The audience guaranteed its support and enthusiastic standing ovation to an artist, a man who has gained the admiration of the people for all his life and who has proved exemplary once again, struggling with each note at a time when the cancellations of opera performances and concerts are now the order of the day with not too much concern.

Despite everything, the program was identical to that of the previous concerts, with the exception of the first song of the second part. Three encores at the end: Chitarra Romana, O mio babbino caro, and Non ti scordar di me.

Absolutely admirable both Carreras and his young collegue, Venera Gimadieva, who not only is really extraordinary under every aspect, but together with the public showed special care and consideration towards the legendary tonor who heroically stayed on stage until the end.
