Josep Carreras' new album to be released in Autumn 2013 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his Foundation

Josep Carreras ha appena terminato una sessione di tre giorni di registrazione del suo nuovo album con l'Orchestra Sinfonica RTV Slovenia presso il recentemente rinnovato Studio 26 Radio Slovenia di Lubiana.

L'album verrà pubblicato quest'autunno, in occasione del venticinquesimo anniversario della su Fondazione per la lotta contro la leucemia.

La scelta della Sinfonica RTV Slovenia è legata al grande successo dell'Orchestra che negli ultimi anni ha saputo affermarsi anche nel repertorio più crossover, che ben si coniuga con la natura di questo nuovo album di Josep Carreras, basato sul recupero di brani popolari di origine italiana e latino-americana. A dirigere l'orchestra è il compositore e direttore austriaco Christian Kolonovits, che figura tra gli arrangiatori insieme agli altrettanto famigerati John Cameron e Paul Bateman.

Kolonovits, oltre ad aver già offerto il proprio contributo nella realizzazione di altri album di Josep Carreras, come per esempio Energia, è anche il compositore della nuova opera scritta appositamente per Carreras, e che il nostro tenore dovrebbe portare in scena nel tardo 2014, a quanto è stato riportato per ora. L'argomento è legato alla Guerra Civile Spagnola.

In realtà è da un paio d'anni che corrono voci della realizzazione di un nuovo album: inizialmente avrebbe dovuto intitolarsi Amore e Passione, in tedesco Liebe und Leidenschaft, nome che è stato attribuito anche a programmi di concerti che Carreras ha offerto, come quello presso la Konzerthaus di Vienna il 14 ottobre del 2011. 

In quel periodo, per altro, uscivano nelle librerie le sue Memorias A Viva Voz, insieme alle traduzioni Memòries De Viva Veu e Aus vollem Herzen scritte a quattro mani con Màrius Carol. Evidentemente i programmi sono cambiati, ma la notizia della pubblicazione del nuovo album prevista per quest'autunno sono sicura sia graditissima a tutti noi. Non vedo l'ora che escano altri dettagli in merito, ma soprattutto non vedo l'ora di ascoltarlo!!

◦ Josep Carreras has just completed a three-day recording session for his new album with the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra at the recently renovated Studio 26 Radio Slovenia in Ljubljana.

The album will be released in fall 2013, to celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Leukaemia Foundation Josep Carreras presides. 

◦The choice of the RTV Slovenia Symphony is due to the lately achieved success by this Orchestra also in the crossover repertoire, which well combines with the nature of Josep Carreras' new album, mainly based on Italian and Latin American popular songs. The Austrian composer and conductor Christian Kolonovits, who is also one of the arrangers together with the equally world renown John Cameron and Paul Bateman, conducts the Orchestra. In addition, Kolonovits, who had already contributed to the realization of other albums by Josep Carreras, such as Energia, is also the composer of the new opera written specifically for Carreras, and that our tenor should bring on stage for the first time in late 2014, according to what has been reported until now. ◦ Actually, rumors of the recording of a new album, originally supposed to be titled Love and Passion in German Liebe und Leidenschaft, a name that has been given to concert programs Carreras offered such as at the Konzerthaus in Vienna on 14 October 2011, dates back to a couple of years ago.
