Josep Carreras completely gratified by his first International Masterclass in Pesaro
Come già accennato, dopo il grande successo nella terra pucciniana, Josep Carreras è partito immediatamente per Pesaro dove a partire da lunedì 16 avrebbe tenuto la sua prima Masterclass Internazionale di canto lirico presso l'Auditorium Pedrotti del Conservatorio Rossini. Cinque giorni di lezioni cui hanno preso parte attivamente 28 studenti, per la maggior parte orientali, undici dei quali sono stati selezionati per il concerto conclusivo, che si è tenuto ieri pomeriggio alle ore 18, sempre presso l'Auditorium Pedrotti.

Giovedì scorso il primo breve video che lo ritraeva in questa nuova veste, dando saggi consigli ai giovani studenti, al fianco di Lorenzo Bavaj, docente di pianoforte nello stesso conservatorio oltre che suo pianista e grande amico dal 1989, con il quale l'affiatamento è notevole sia sul palco, sia al di fuori.
Il primo indizio di quanto è stato confermato dall'articolo di oggi che ha riportato le stesse parole del tenore: "un'esperienza straordinaria (...) I giovani partecipanti con la loro preparazione ed il loro entusiasmo mi hanno gratificato e mi hanno fatto un vero regalo consentendomi di renderli partecipi di 46 anni di vita sul palcoscenico.".
Ognuno di questi giovani ha ricevuto l'attestato di perfezionamento dalle mani di Carreras, che a sua volta ha ricevuto in omaggio una scultura in vetro di Leonardo Nobili realizzata dalla Fiam. Quando la serata sembrava ormai giunta al termine, il leggendario tenore ha regalato ai suoi studenti e al Pedrotti la sua Passione, cui il pubblico ha replicato con calorose ovazioni.

Speriamo davvero che sia solo il primo di una serie di episodi, e che Josep voglia proseguire questa attività in futuro. Tanti giovani cantanti potrebbero fare tesoro della sua straordinaria esperienza.

As previously mentioned, after his huge success in Puccini's hometown, Josep Carreras travelled immediately to Pesaro where the day after, Monday 16, he would offer his first International Opera Singing Masterclass at the Auditorium Pedrotti of the Rossini Conservatory. A five day masterclass actively attended by 28 students, mostly from the East, eleven of which were selected for the final concert, which was held yesterday afternoon, 6pm, again at the Pedrotti Auditorium.
Last Thursday the first, short video portrayed him in this new role, giving wise advices to young students, alongside Lorenzo Bavaj, piano professor at the Conservatory as well as his pianist and great friend since 1989, with whom harmoni is remarkable both on and off the stage.
That video was the first clue of what has been confirmed by this article today, which reported his very words: "an extraordinary experience (...) The young participants with their preparation and enthusiasm gratified me and made me a true gift by allowing me to involve them in 46 years of life on stage. ".
Each of these young students received a certificate of completion by the hand of Carreras, which in turn received a glass sculpture by Leonardo Noble, made by Fiam. When the evening seemed close to the end, the legendary tenor sang for his students and the Pedrotti Auditorium a brilliant rendition of Passione, which the audience responded with warm ovations.
Let's really hope this to be just the beginning of a new adventure, and that Josep may decide to continue this activity in the future. Many young singers could treasure his extraordinary experience.
