JOSEP CARRERAS TURNS 70: HAPPY 70th BIRTHDAY JOSEP!

70 anni 

sono trascorsi da quel 5 dicembre in cui un terzo figlio andava ad arricchire la famiglia Carreras Coll, rappresentata da un insegnante che per imposizioni politiche, avrebbe poi vestito un'uniforme, e una parrucchiera, già genitori di due figli. 

70 anni 

dalla venuta al mondo di un bambino vivace che avrebbe ben presto mostrato una spiccata attitudine per la musica e per il canto, che avrebbe di lì a poco debuttato nella radio nazionale e all'opera cittadina, il Liceu di Barcellona. 

70 anni 

dalla nascita di un ragazzo che, anche dopo la perdita prematura della madre, avrebbe perseverato e scommesso sulla strada del canto fino a calcare i palchi operistici più prestigiosi al mondo al fianco dei più grandi interpreti e direttori, fino a diventare egli stesso uno dei più grandi scolpendo il proprio nome nella storia della grande opera. 

70 anni 

di un eroe delle scene diventato per necessità eroe nella vita sconfiggendo una morte contro ogni pronostico. 

70 anni 

di un uomo che anche dopo quasi 30 anni dalla propria miracolosa guarigione continua a fare della lotta contro la leucemia una battaglia personale. 

70 anni 

di un uomo che sa ancora come arrivare dritto al cuore delle persone dal palco e fuori da esso. 

70 anni 

sono un traguardo importante per chiunque, ma alla luce di tutto questo sembrano avere un doppio valore. 

Josep Carreras festeggia oggi 70 anni a Tokyo, subito dopo aver collezionato un'altra performance indimenticabile alla Suntory Hall, circondato dall'affetto dei figli e dei nipoti. 

Tuttavia, siamo tanti, tantissimi quelli che con il cuore colmo di orgoglio si stringono attorno a lui per questo giorno così speciale, con l'affetto, la stima e la riconoscenza di sempre.

since that December 5 1946, where a third child was to enrich the Carreras - Coll family, represented by a teacher who for political impositions, would then wear an uniform, and a hairdresser, which were already parents of two children.

70 years

of a lively child who would soon show a real aptitude for music and singing and make his debut at the Spanish National Radio and at the Opera House of his hometown, the Liceu in Barcelona.

70 years

of a boy who, even after the early loss of his mother, did never give up and bet on the singing career and performed on the most prestigious operatic stages in the world alongside the greatest performers and directors, to soon become one of the greatest artist himself and mark the Opera history with his name.

70 years

of a hero on stage who had to become a hero in life  successfully defeating death against all odds.

70 years

of a man who, even after nearly 30 years since his own healing continues to make of the fight against leukaemia a personal battle.

70 years

of a man who still knows how to get right into the heart of the people both from the stage and outside of it.

70 years

are an important achievement for anyone, but considering all this aspects, it seems to be twice as valuable.

Josep Carreras celebrates today his 70 years in Tokyo, after another unforgettable performance at Suntory Hall, surrounded by the love of his family.

However, all of us are with him in spirit on such special day, with the same affection, the esteem and gratitude ever.
