"Il Video della Settimana": Josep Carreras canta Una Furtiva Lagrima (Liceu, 1982)

Eccoci nuovamente per una nuova puntata del Video della Settimana. 

Quest'oggi, una piccola grande sorpresa. Ieri, 18 Febbraio, Josep Carreras ha ricevuto uno dei Cavalchina Awards 2012 presso il Teatro La Fenice di Venezia. Lo scenario cambia, se parliamo invece del 18 Febbraio di 30 anni fa, una data che rimarrà alla storia, molto particolare all'interno della carriera del nostro tenore. Molti ricorderanno questa data, nella quale Josep Carreras ha deliziato con il suo unico Nemorino al Gran Teatre del Liceu. Avete capito bene, l'unico Nemorino che ha cantato al Liceu, e a detta sua, forse la sua migliore performance presso l'Opera di Barcellona.
Il secondo cast previsto per L'Elisir nella stagione 1981/82 si sarebbe esibito solo quella sera: insieme a Josep Carreras ricordiamo Juan Pons, Majorie Vance, Alfred Sramek e Mª Àngels Sarroca. Vi voglio proporre questa meraviglia, che è l'esecuzione de Una Furtiva Lagrima. Un'aria che forse inconsapevolmente ci rimanda ad altre voci che ne hanno fatto un vero e proprio cavallo di battaglia, ma con questo unico Nemorino liceista, Josep Carreras ha letteralmente infiammato il suo pubblico, arresosi irrimediabilmente in scrosci di applausi durati vari minuti, in elogi, bravo, e suppliche di bis... un bis che purtroppo non è arrivato.

A dire il vero non so quanti bis abbia concesso Josep durante un'opera, ma sto cercando di per scoprirlo. Mi è stato riferito che sempre al Liceu si ricorda una Tosca del 1981, nella quale ha ripetuto E lucevan le stelle, ma si tratta comunque di eventi eccezionali.
A Josep è bastato un solo Elisir d'amore, una sola Furtiva, per garantire al Liceu un Nemorino indimenticabile, speciale anche per saper limitare l'ingenuità che caratterizza il personaggio per lasciare più spazio alla genuinità dell'amore giovanile. GODETEVELO!!

◦ Thirty years ago yesterday, on February 18, 1982, Josep Carreras enchanted the audience at the Gran Teatre del Liceu with what he regards probably as his best performance in this theatre. That night, he sang his unique Nemorino in Barcelona: as my friend Joaquim explains so well in his prestigious blog, In Fernem Land, the second cast for this opera in the season 1981/82 performed only once.

◦ I would like you to listen to this Una Furtiva Lagrima, an aria that we tend now to associate to other tenor voices who have made a real strong point of it. Anyway, a single Nemorino has been enough to Josep Carreras to guarantee an unforgettable performance, and  to seduce the audience, who reacted with incredible enthusiasm: bravos, long ovations and encore requests. He didn't repeat the aria. Actually I don't know how many times Josep repeated an aria during an opera performance. But we'll find it out. I was told that, he once repeated E lucevan le stelle during a Tosca performance at the Liceu. By the way, we're talking about rare, exeptional events.

◦ To make long story short, the audience at the Liceu can't really forget this unique Nemorino by Josep Carreras, even more special because not that ingenuous, but surely genuine in the way he loves. Enjoy!!
