"Il Video della Settimana": Josep Carreras canta "En aranjuez con tu amor", el adagio del Concierto de Aranjuez de Joaquín Rodrigo

Benvenuti per un nuovo Video della Settimana.

La tipologia del video di questa settimana era già stata prevista da tempo, come ultimamente succede cerco di organizzarmi con un certo anticipo, ma sapevo perfettamente che a suggerirmi il titolo sarebbe stato il programma del grande concerto che Josep Carreras ha cantato a Mendoza giovedì scorso che, come abbiamo già visto, è stato studiato a regola d'arte per un'occasione davvero unica. Un repertorio ispirato alla migliore Zarzuela e a compositori spagnoli di gran rilievo. Ad attirarmi è stato un brano di cui non ho ancora parlato nel dettaglio nel blog, dal titolo En Aranjuez con tu amor. Il Concerto di Aranjuez, opera da cui questo brano è tratto, è un componimento per chitarra e orchestra scritto nel 1939 dal grande compositore spagnolo Joaquín Rodrigo, tra i principali esponenti del panorama musicale spagnolo del dopoguerra. È stato eseguito per la prima volta l'anno successivo nel Palau de la Música Catalana di Barcellona. 

Si tratta dell'opera musicale spagnola forse più interpretata a livello internazionale: composto di tre movimenti, l'adagio centrale è sicuramente la maggior fonte di ispirazione, dal momento in cui è stato impiegato in diversi film oltre ad essere interpretato da una grande varietà di artisti, da Miles Davis passando per il pop fino a raggiungere diversi cantanti d'opera. 

Joaquín Rodrigo ha definito questo secondo movimento "un dialogo tra la chitarra e gli altri strumenti solisti", ed è caratterizzato da un andamento lento, un'atmosfera molto intima ricreata dalla dolce e riservata melodia della chitarra.

Ma veniamo al punto: En Aranjuez con tu amor non solo è stata ripetutamente interpretata da Josep Carreras, ma è stata anche scelta come brano di apertura del suo disco Passion del 1996. Non molte edizioni fa parlavamo di Un'Ombra, primo della track list di Pure Passion, una sorta di sequel dell'album del 1996, ovvero il primo risultato del desiderio di Carreras di poter esprimere vocalmente tutta l'intensità di componimenti concepiti unicamente come strumentali. Ognuno di questi brani è l'esito di una scelta dello stesso Carreras, alla luce del loro particolare significato nel suo percorso musicale: con la propria interpretazione, il nostro tenore ha mirato a esprimere nuovi aspetti e colori della musica, per mezzo di una travolgente emozione che parla di amore e passione.

Questo En Aranjuez con tu amor, il cui testo in lingua spagnola è stato scritto da Alfredo García Segura, tratta di una storia d'amore nata nei giardini del Palacio Real de Aranjuez, rievocato da uno dei due amanti con toni profondamente malinconici, come si evince dall'immagine delle foglie secche ormai prive di colore, spazzate via dal vento, simbolo del ricordo di un amore dimenticato senza motivo, o forse nascosto in un tramonto, nella brezza o in un fiore, nell'attesa del ritorno della compagna di allora. Carreras mette perfettamente in luce ogni sfumatura di questa musica straordinaria, volgendola in un sentimento così puro da commuovere,

◦ The type of the video of this week had already been planned for some time. As lately happens, I try to organize it some time before, but perfectly knew that the program of the great concert Josep Carreras sang in Mendoza last Thursday, that was designed to perfection for a truly unique opportunity, as we have already commented, would have suggested me the tytle of the song to be proposed today. A repertoire inspired by the best Zarzuela and Spanish composers of great importance. 
◦Whatt attracted me was a song I have not  talked about in detail in this blog yet, titled En Aranjuez con tu amor. The Concert of Aranjuez, the opera from which this passage is taken, is a composition for guitar and orchestra written in 1939 by  Joaquín Rodrigo, one of the leading  composers of Spanish music of the last century. It was performed for the first time the following year at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona. This is perhaps the most famous and international spanish music, and consists of three movements: the central adagio is definitely a major source of inspiration, since that has been used in several films as well as being played by a wide variety of artists, from Miles Davis through the pop up to many opera singers.
Joaquín Rodrigo has defined this second movement "a dialogue between the guitar and the other solo instruments", and is characterized by a slow, a very intimate atmosphere created by the sweet and reserved guitar melody.
◦But let's get to the point: En Aranjuez con tu amor has not only been frequentlyly interpreted by Josep Carreras, but it was also chosen as the opening track of his album, Passion, released in 1996. Not many editions ago we were talking about Un'Ombra, the first track of Pure Passion, a sort of sequel album of  this one from 1996, the first result of Carreras' wish to vocally express the intensity of compositions intended only as instrumental. Each of these pieces is the result of the same Carreras' choice, because of their particular meaning in his musical personal history: with his own interpretation, our tenor aimed to express new aspects and colors of this music, by an overwhelming emotion that variously speaks of love and passion.
◦ En Aranjuez con tu amor, whose Spanish text was written by Alfredo García Segura, is a love story born in the gardens of the Royal Palace in Aranjuez, evoked by one of the two lovers with deep melancholy tones, as shown by the image of the already uncoloured leaves, swept away by the wind, a symbol of remembrance of a love forgotten without reason, or perhaps hidden in a sunset, in the breeze or in a flower, waiting for the return of his partner. 
Carreras perfectly highlights every nuance of this extraordinary music, turning it into a feeling so pure that moves us all.
