New Winter Banner and Background 2014

Le Feste si sono concluse e i colori del Natale lasciano il blog per fare spazio a nuovi colori e nuove immagini.

Il Banner di questo inverno 2014 ritrova l'amatissima città di Barcellona sullo sfondo, con una inquadratura trasversale di una delle strade più conosciute e signorili, Passeig de Gràcia: potete facilmente individuare tra gli edifici due dei capolavori modernisti che hanno già caratterizzato lo sfondo di un altro banner del passato, le case Amatller e Batlló, illuminate.
Sopra Barcellona un cielo non completamente sereno colto nell'imbrunire, elemento che favorisce la prevalenza di colori freddi, adatti all'atmosfera invernale, comunque riscaldata dalle luci che animano la strada.

Le immagini di Josep che ho scelto sono recentissime, proprio degli ultimi mesi: una di queste lo ritrae durante uno dei concerti di Natale che ha offerto a Dicembre.

Anche lo sfondo del blog ha risentito del passaggio dal 2013 al 2014: il collage dei ruoli verdiani che ha caratterizzato la fase conclusiva dell'anno scorso, in cui si è celebrato il bicentenario verdiano, ha lasciato spazio ad uno più ampio che comprende immagini, di diverse dimensioni, di quasi tutti i ruoli che ha interpretato Josep Carreras nel corso della sua brillante carriera operistica, dai vari Flavio, Ismael e Gennaro a Loris, Stiffelio e Sly. L'ultima casella in basso a destra, come noterete, è oscurata e non prevede ancora alcuna foto: è dedicata a Federico, protagonista dell'opera El Juez (Los niños perdidos) nella quale debutterà proprio il 26 aprile di quest'anno, presso il Teatro Arriaga di quest'anno. Inutile sottolineare come questo debutto, il grande e attesissimo ritorno sulla scena operistica di Carreras sarà l'highlight assoluto di questo 2014.

The Holidays have already finished, and the typical Christmas colours leave the blog to make room for new ones and ne images. The Banner of this Winter 2014 offers again our beloved city of Barcelona in the background, with a cross- shot of one of the best-known and distinguished avenue, Passeig de Gràcia: you can easily identify among the buildings two of the  modernist masterpieces that have already appeared in the background of an old banner in the past, the houses Amatller and Batlló. The sky above is not completely clear and is getting dark, a factor that favors the prevalence of cool colors, suitable for the winter atmosphere, which however is heated by the lights that animate the street. 

The images of Josep I chose are very recent, just the last few months and one of them shows him during one of the Christmas concerts he offered in December. 

Also the background of the blog was affected by the transition from 2013 to 2014: a collage of Verdi roles featuring the final part of last year, when we celebrated the bicentennial of Giuseppe Verdi, has given way to a larger one which includes images, of different sizes, of almost all the roles Josep Carreras has played during his brilliant operatic career, from the various Flavio (Norma), Ismaele (Nabucco) and Gennaro (Lucrezia Borgia) to Loris (Fedora), Stiffelio and Sly. The last box in the lower right corner, as you will notice, is obscured and does not include any photo yet: it is dedicated to Federico, the leading role of El Juez (Los niños perdidos ) which he will debut on 26 April this year, at the Teatro Arriaga, on the world premiere. Needless to say that this debut, meaning Carreras' great and long-awaited return to the opera stage, will be the absolute highlight of this 2014.
