"Il Video della Settimana": Josep Carreras canta "Se'n va anar" by Josep Mª Andreu and Lleó Borrell (T'estim i t'estimaré, 2006)
Benvenuti a un nuovo Video della Settimana.
Oggi vorrei proporre una parentesi che esula dalla sequenza operistica delle ultime domeniche per rendere omaggio a Josep Mª Andreu, scomparso lo scorso 21 marzo all'età di 93 anni.
Premiato dalla Generalitat de Catalunya con la Creu de Sant Jordi nel 2006, Andreu era un grande poeta che ha conferito grande dignità letteraria a molti testi delle più celebri e amate canzoni popolari catalane, stringendo collaborazione con molti grandi artisti del movimento della Nova Cançó, e la canzone popolare catalana successiva.
Il suo contributo, specialmente negli anni 60 e 70, ha favorito il processo di normalizzazione della lingua catalana in un momento in cui la politica repressiva del Franchismo aveva drammaticamente preso di mira, tra i tanti simboli di identità, le lingue diverse dal castigliano all'interno dello stato spagnolo.
Andreu ha lavorato con i più grandi del panorama musicale catalano della seconda metà del secolo scorso, da Lluís Llach a Núria Feliu, da Raimon a Salomé, tra tanti altri.
Tuttavia, il suo nome è legato anche a quello di artisti catalani di altra natura, come quella operistica, come nel caso di Montserrat Caballé e Josep Carreras
Vi basterà essere in possesso di alcuni dischi per aver letto il suo nome in corrispondenza di alcuni testi di brani presenti: da Et portaré una rosa del 1987 a L'arbre, o a traduzioni di testi internazionali in catalano come Night and Day (Dia i nit) o la bellissima One more kiss, dear, adattata a Un petó més, amor meu, cantata insieme all'amica e sorella del quartiere di Sants, Núria Feliu.
Si possono fare diversi esempi per dimostrare l'interesse di Josep Carreras al repertorio popolare, del suo paese e non solo: uno tra questi è il disco "T'estim i t'estimaré" del 2006, un lavoro che porta il nome di uno dei brani più famosi del suo amico compositore, Antoni Parera Fons, che lo ha prodotto
Questo disco raccoglie alcune canzoni catalane molto note e amate dal pubblico popolare, insieme ad altre straniere e tradotte in catalano, come nel caso di My Way (Com he fet sempre), e la anteriormente citata Night and Day.

Se osservate la tracklist vi rendete conto di quanto il nome di Josep Mª Andreu appaia frequentemente, specialmente accanto a quello del compositore con cui ha collaborato più frequentemente che è Lleó Borrell.
Il brano che scelgo è sicuramente uno dei più rappresentativi di Andreu, il bellissimo Se'n va anar. Questa canzone, interpretata da Salomé è stata dichiarata vincitrice della quinta edizione del Festival de la Cançó Mediterrania, nel 1963, in pieno Franchismo.
Come spesso è accaduto con altri esperimenti nel repertorio popolare, è evidente come la voce di Carreras si riveli estremamente versatile e infonda al brano uno spessore particolare, classico ma non troppo lirico, in questo caso all'altezza della dignità letteraria del testo di Andreu. L'eleganza del suo fraseggio e la straordinaria sensibilità interpretativa ne fanno una versione che ben si presta ad omaggiare il generoso contributo di un poeta che non ha mai esitato a mettersi al servizio della musica e degli artisti che hanno reso grande la canzone catalana di quel periodo, rivendicando il prestigio della lingua e della cultura proprie. Today I would like to make a parenthesis, beyond the opera sequence of opera of the lastest Sundays to pay tribute to Josep Mª Andreu , who passed away in Barcelona on 21 March, aged 93.
Rewarded by the Generalitat de Catalunya with the Creu de Sant Jordi in 2006, Andreu was a great poet, who provided great literary dignity to the lyrics of many of the most famous and popular Catalan folk songs, through cooperations with many major artists of the movement of protest called Nova Cançó (New Song), and the Catalan folk song that followed.
His contribution, especially in the 60's and 70's, helped the process of normalization of the Catalan language in a time when the repressive policy of Francoism dramatically persecuted, among the many symbols of identity, languages which were not Castilian, inside the Spanish state .
Andreu worked with the major artists of the Catalan music scene of the second half of the last century, from Lluís Llach to Núria Feliu, from Raimon to Salomé, among many others.
However, his name is also linked to that of Catalan artists of other kinds, such as the opera singers, as in the case of Montserrat Caballé and Josep Carreras
If you hace just some of his discs, you must have read his name above the lyrics of some songs: Et portaré una rosa of 1987, L'arbre, or translations of some international lyrics in Catalan as "Night and Day (Dia i nit)" or the beautiful "One more kiss, dear" , adapted to Un petó més, amor meu, sung with her friend and sister of Sants district, Núria Feliu.
We can make several examples to show Josep Carreras' interest to the popular repertoire, includinf that of his country: one of them is the album "T'estim the t'estimaré" of 2006, a work that bears the name of one the most famous songs of his friend and composer Antoni Parera Fons, who produced it.
This disc collects some of the most beloved songs by the Catalan popular audience, along with foreign ones translated into Catalan, as in the case of My Way (Com he fet always) , and the previously mentioned Night and Day
If you look at the tracklist, you realize that the name of Josep M ª Andreu appears frequently, especially next to that of the composer with whom he had collaborated most, that is Lleó Borrell.
The song I choose today is definitely one of the most representative of Andreu's, Se'n va anar. This song, interpreted by Salomé was declared the winner of the fifth edition of the Festival de la Cançó Mediterrania, in 1963 , in the middle of Francoism.
As often happened with other ones of his experiments in the popular repertoire, Carreras' voice proves to be extremely versatile, and provides the song with a particular depth. It isclassic but not too lyrical, and in this case it matches up with the literary dignity of Andreu's lyrics. The elegance of his phrasing and the extraordinary sensitivity of his interpretation make it a perfect version to pay tribute to the generous contribution of a poet who never hesitated to put themselves at the service of music and the artists that have made great the Catalan songs of that period, claiming the prestige of thier own native language and culture.
