Josep Carreras made "El Juez" triumph in Saint Petersburg
Sono trascorsi già diversi giorni dal grande evento dell'inizio di questo 2015, la premiere russa per l'opera che ha riportato Josep Carreras sulle scene, su un palco di grande prestigio come quello del Mariinsky di San Pietroburgo.
Diversi giorni di attesa nella speranza che la stampa locale si mostrasse operativa come lo era fino a prima dell'evento, ma purtroppo così non è stato. Tante foto, tanti brevi video... ma quasi esclusivamente delle prove e dell'incontro di Carreras con i reporter. Poco o nulla sulle recite.
Certamente l'elemento fondamentale è stato reso noto, ma più sui social network, dai membri stessi del cast, che altrove. Un grandissimo successo in un teatro sempre pieno: Josep Carreras ha offerto probabilmente una delle su migliori performance come Federico, applaudito a lungo e calorosamente da un pubblico entusiasta: così mi è stato raccontato da una fonte fidata e attendibile dopo la prima del 15 dedicata alla memoria di Elena Obraztsova.

Un trionfo, insomma, ma viste le precedenti esperienze di Bilbao ed Erl, non avevamo dubbi. Da blogger, però è difficile accontentarsi: avrei preferito avere più dettagli, anche perché in questa occasione solo circa la metà del cast era lo stesso: volti inediti a parte Carreras, Carlo Colombara, Ana Ibarra, Itziar De Unda e Milagros Martín, la quale oltre al ruolo dell'anziana signora ha incorporato anche quello della seconda monaca che, a Bilbao e a Erl era affidato al mezzosoprano, María José Suárez, insieme a quello di Maria. Un po' di curiosità è legittima.

E questo è un servizio andato in onda in televisione poco dopo il termine della prima recita, di cui sono compresi brevissimi estratti della seconda parte dell'opera, e altri già noti delle prove.

Il giorno successivo, invece, 16 gennaio, si è tenuta una cena di gala presso il Four Seasons Hotel Lion Palace Saint Petersburg, per celebrare la premiere. Presenti il maestro David Giménez, Carlo Colombard, Gladys Rossi, Ana Ibarra, Stanislav Leontiev. Tutti gli ospiti hanno omaggiato il tenore con un'ovazione paragonabile a quella ricevuta la sera prima sul palco del Mariinsky: dopo aver rivolto poche parole di gratitudine per il contributo di Chopard nella creazione di questo progetto, Carreras ha raggiunto il suo tavolo, cui sedeva insieme al figlio Albert, alla nuora Ingrid, a David Giménez e al suo agente Peter Kupfer.

Some days are gone since this great event scheduled fore the beginning of 2015, the Russian premiere of the work that brought Josep Carreras back to the operatic stage, on a prestigious one as the Mariinsky.
Several days waiting and hoping that the local press showed as active as it was before the event, but unfortunately it was not. Many photos, many short videos... but almost exclusively of the rehearsals and the meeting with the reporters. Little or nothing about the performances.
Certainly, what mattered most was said, but exclusively on social networks, also by the members of the cast. An extremely successful and always sold-out event: Josep Carreras offered probably one of the his best rendition of Federico, according to a reliable source, largely and warmely ovationed by an enthusiastic audience: I was told this after the premiere of the 15th dedicated to the memory of mezzosoprano Elena Obraztsova.
So, a real triumph, but we had no doubt about it, considering the previous experiences in Bilbao and Erl. To be honest, as a blogger I would have preferred to have more details, also because this time only about half of the cast was the same as before: new interpreters, except Carreras, Carlo Colombara, Ana Ibarra, Itziar De Unda and Milagros Martín who, in addition to the role of the old woman, performed as the second nun as well, before portrayed by mezzosoprano, María José Suárez, together with the bigger role of Maria. A little curiosity is legitimate, I think.

Carreras also visited the Chopard boutique, sponsor of the event, which hosted the cocktail celebration after the premiere.
However, on January 16, a gala dinner was held at the Four Seasons Hotel Lion Palace St. Petersburg to celebrate the premiere. Among the g¡invited guests, maestro David Giménez, and main members of the cast Carlo Colombard, Gladys Rossi, Ana Ibarra, Stanislav Leontiev. All guests honored the celebrated tenor with an ovation comparable to the one he had received the night before on stage. After addressing a few words of gratitude for the contribution of Chopard in the making of this project, Carreras joined the table he shared with his son Albert, the daughter in law Ingrid, David Giménez, and his agent Peter Kupfer.
