"Il Video della Settimana": Josep Carreras and Montserrat Caballé sing Lippen Schweigen from The Merry Widow

Eccoci ancora una volta per un nuovo Video della Settimana.

Come sapete qualche giorno fa, il 12 aprile, è stato il compleanno della grande Montserrat Caballé, quindi mi sembra doveroso dedicare anche a lei il video di quest'oggi. So che non è il primo in cui compare, ma spesso i grandi momenti del nostro Josep non possono essere scissi da quelli di questo soprano meraviglioso. Sono così tanti i momenti in cui si sono trovati a condividere il palco, talmente tanti che avrei potuto avere l'imbarazzo della scelta. Ho pensato, però, di evitare per questa volta quelli più memorabili, per dare spazio ad altri in cui la personalità di entrambi si mostra perfettamente, creando quell'armonia e quella grande intesa che noi tutti conosciamo.

Si tratta di un momento estratto da un concerto che i due hanno cantato a Praga nel 1994. Curiosamente, Josep portava la barba in quel momento, quasi una coincidenza con una delle tematiche emerse nel post dell'intervista realizzata da Tian Ge. Tra gli encore, questo celebre duetto tratto dall'operetta Die Lustige Witwe (La Vedova Allegra): Lippen Schweigen. Sicuramente, un duo che ricorre molto spesso nei concerti di Josep, interpretato a fianco di giovani soprano: pur essendo sempre piacevole da ascoltare, quando l'interprete femminile è qualcuno come Montserrat Caballé, lo stesso brano assume una rilevanza nettamente superiore. So che concorderete con me in questo. 

La solennità che suppone la presenza della Caballé viene talvolta tradita da un suo modo di fare molto simpatico, e dalla straordinaria complicità anche in questo con Josep. Nonostante ciò, nemmeno lei è riuscita a convincerlo a danzare nell'intermezzo. Godetevi questa piacevolissima performance!!

As you know, three days ago (April 12) was Montserrat Caballé's 79th anniversary, so I can't but dedicate this post to her too. It's not the first one in which she appeares, but Josep and Montserrat has shared so many great moments on stage... so many that we can't choose one. Anyway, I thought to avoid for today such unforgettable moments, for a different one that shows their own personalities, and the unique complicity between them as well.

◦ It is a moment taken from a concert they offered in Prague in 1994. It's curious that Josep had beard, a good coincidence if we think about one of the content of last post on the interviews realised by Tian Ge in China. Among the encores, this famous duet that is part of The Merry Widow, Lippen Schweigen. 
◦ For sure, Josep chooses to perform it so often in his concerts together with young soprano; it's always a great opleasure to listen to it, but it's true that it assumes an even greater relevance if the partner is someone like Montserrat Caballé. The solemnity that the presence of Montserrat brings to the performance is mitigated here with some funny moments. Anyway, she neither could convince him to dance a bit in the intermezzo. Enjoy it!!
