"Il Video della Settimana": Jaume Aragall i Josep Carreras canten junts L'Emigrant (Moltes felicitats a Jaume Aragall pel seu aniversari!!)

Benvenuti per un nuovo Video della Settimana.

Nella vigilia dell'assegnazione a Josep Carreras del titolo di Dottore Honoris Causa in Musicologia dall'Università della Saar, a Saarbrücken, il video fa riferimento a un'altra ricorrenza che si è celebrata lo scorso mercoledì, 6 Giugno, quando un altro grande tenore catalano, Jaume Aragall, ha compiuto gli anni.

Il nome di Aragall è rientrato diverse volte nei miei post non per il semplice fatto di essere uno dei migliori di sempre, ma proprio perché, al di là della solida amicizia che da sempre lo lega a Josep Carreras, la sua voce è una di quelle che sempre è riuscita a trasmettermi qualcosa. Riuscire a trasmettere è forse una delle imprese più ardue per un artista, e nel mio caso specifico per un tenore. Non posso senz'altro ritenermi un'esperta in materia, ma non c'è dubbio ho le idee molto chiare su quel che mi piace e quello che invece la mia sensibilità non è in grado apprezzare...e con i tenori sono piuttosto severa ed esigente.
Forse mi sto ripetendo, ma Jaume Aragall, oltre ad avere una voce incredibile, a detta di alcuni "perfetta", ha una sensibilità molto ben definita e questo è sempre un ingrediente molto speciale nell'interpretazione di un brano musicale.

Come se non bastasse, le sue condizioni vocali attuali sembrano voler insinuare che il passare degli anni non abbia sortito alcun effetto. Se non mi credete ascoltatelo, ascoltate i video delle sue masterclasses... rimarrete senza parole, anche di fronte alla naturale chiarezza della sua didattica.

In definitiva, oggi voglio ricordare il compleanno di un'altra voce di tenore di cui la Catalogna deve andare ben orgogliosa... ed è per lei, per questo paese, che durante un concerto del Festival Castell de Perelada, le voci di questi due tenori meravigliosi si intrecciano sulle note dolenti de L'Emigrant. In quel concerto del 15 luglio del 2000, a fianco di Aragall e Carreras cantava anche Isabel Rey, come mostra anche un medley anch'esso disponibile su youtube (1, 2, 3). L'audio è accompagnato da una sequenza di fotografie... avere il video vero e proprio forse sarebbe pretendere troppo. Godetevelo!!!

Non mi resta che progere, in ritardo, i miei migliori auguri di buon compleanno al grandissimo Jaume Aragall, con tutto l'affetto e l'ammirazione per l'artista straordinario che sarà sempre.

◦ On the day before Josep Carreras receives the Honorary Doctorate in Musicology from the University of Saarland, in Saarbrücken, this video is referred to another event celebrated last Wednesday, June 6: on this very day, another great catalan tenor, Jaume Aragall, celebrated his birthday. 
◦ Aragall's name has been mentioned several times in this blog, besades the close friendship with Josep Carreras, because his voice has always been able to transmit something to me. This is probably the most difficult thing for an artist, and in this particular case for a tenor. I can't consider myself an expert, but I perfectly know what I like, and what my sensitivity can't appreciate... and actually I expect so much from a tenor. Probably I should avoid repetition, but Jaume Aragall not only has an incredible voice, a "perfect" voice according to someone, but most of all he has an extremely defined sensitivity, something that should never miss in the interpretation of a piece of music. His current vocal condition seemed to claim that time has no effect. And if you don't believe me, go and listen to him, watch the videos of his masterclasses, and notice his natural, clear didactics.
◦ So, what I want to celebrate today is the birthday of another tenor voice Catalonia must be proud of, and for this country, two marvellous catalan tenors sang together "L'Emigrant" in their concert of the Castell de Peralada Festival on July, 15 2000. The femail voice of this concert was the one of the great soprano Isabel Rey, as the three part medley shows (1, 2, 3). Together with the audio we have only a serie of photos... expecting the video would be too much. Enjoy it!!
And now, I just want to wish Jaume Aragall, with delay, a very happy birthday, for the extraordinary artist he is, and will be forever.
