Josep Carreras and Plácido Domingo sang together a charitable concert in Moscow
Ecco un po' di materiale relativo al'esclusivo concerto di Natale che Josep Carreras e Plácido Domingo hanno cantato insieme presso la sala della Cattedrale di Cristo Salvatore a Mosca, nella sera di mercoledì 19, a sostegno dei bambini disabili e della famiglie meno agiate. Trattandosi di un evento privato, cui hanno avuto accesso solo invitati specifici, solo materiale fotografico, ed un video riproposto da più fonti, è tutto ciò che è stato possibile rintracciare in rete.
Non è chiaro se i due tenori si siano esibiti anche durante la cerimonia inaugurale del Terminal A dell'Aeroporto, come era inizialmente previsto.
Trattandosi di un concerto adeguato a questo periodo dell'anno, come è stato presentato da Carreras al Presidente Putin, il programma avrà riunito molti tra i canti natalizi più tradizionali, nell'esecuzione dei quali Carreras e Domingo sono stati accompagnati da due partners femminili, e da David Giménez. Ma sicuramente hanno eseguito anche qualcosa di particolarmente riservato a questa occasione così speciale, qualcosa che tenesse conto del contesto e dell'occasione straordinaria che li ha riuniti ancora una volta.
Dai video possiamo ascoltare una straordinaria versione cantata del celeberrimo Walzer dei fiori, dalla Suite del balletto Lo Schiaccianoci di Tchaikovsky, un azzeccatissimo omaggio alla Russia.

Josep Carreras ha accolto l'iniziativa dell'intervista con entusiasmo, affermando di aver alcune domande per Plácido il quale, sorridendo, nutriva qualche presentimento sugli argomenti che il collega avrebbe toccato. Ha così deciso di cogliere la palla al balzo e di essere lui stesso a rivolgere a Carreras la prima domanda, ovvero "Quando il FC Barcelona perderà finalmente almeno una partita?", cui il catalano ha risposto ridendo "Quando qualcuno gli toglierà la vittoria". Effettivamente, tra Plácido Domingo e Josep Carreras non poteva certo mancare un confronto calcistico, ma a questo hanno fatto poi seguito tematiche più serie. Carreras voleva davvero sapere da dove il collega prendeva tanta forza per così tante cose dopo tutti questi anni. Domingo ha colto immediatamente la serietà del contenuto e ha affermato di aver molto rispetto per il lavoro con i bambini, e che guardando indietro rivede il duro lavoro dei suoi genitori. A questo si aggiunge la delicatezza di uno strumento come quello del cantante, la voce, che non più essere chiusa in una custodia che la preservi: bisogna prendersi cura della voce facendo molta attenzione anche alle cose più semplici. A questo proposito Carreras, che ha perfettamente compreso ciò che intendeva Domingo, ha aggiunto che la voce deve essere tua amica, non nemica.
Nel momento del proprio turno, Plácido Domingo ha chiesto a Josep come ha gestito la preoccupazione per la possibilità di non recuperare la voce come conseguenza del trattamento cui avrebbe dovuto sottoporsi, nel periodo in cui tutto il mondo era seriamente preoccupato per la sua salute. Josep Carreras ha assicurato che ciò che era prioritario era tornare alla vita normale: Carreras trovava conforto nella convinzione che se fosse guarito, avrebbe senz'altro potuto tornare a cantare. E così è successo.

In quest'ultimo link, troviamo il promo di un'intervista esclusiva che i tenori hanno concesso a Pronto RT. Nel frammento del promo, Carreras afferma di aver sempre creduto che è più importante essere l'unico di essere il numero uno, mentre Domingo ha rivendicato la centralità del ruolo che ha il pubblico, senza il cui riconoscimento, senza quella stella che ti mettono in fronte, l'artista non è niente.
Avrei pubblicato prima questo post se non avessi atteso la pubblicazione dell'intervista intera, prevista per la data di ieri. Solo oggi, però, la redazione di RT ha reso pubblico che l'intervista intera sarà disponibile non prima del 25. È forse un regalo di Natale?

Josep Carreras welcomed this initiative with enthusiasm, saying that he had some questions for Plácido, who, smiling, could guess the topics his colleague would touch. He decided to start himself with the first question, that was "When the FC Barcelona finally lose at least one game?". The Catalan, laughing, replied "When someone will take them away the victory". Indeed, between Josep Carreras and Plácido Domingo could not miss a football comparison, but then followed most serious issues. Carreras really wanted to know where his colleague takes so much vital energy to do so many things after all these years. Domingo understood immediately the seriousness of the content, and said he had great respect for the work with children, and he still looks back to the hard work of his parents. In addition, there is the delicacy of the voice, an instrument that can't be preserved in a case: you have to take care of the voice, paying attention even to the simplest things of everyday life. In this regard, Carreras, who perfectly understood what Domingo meant, added that the voice must be your friend, not an enemy.
Later, Plácido Domingo asked Josep how he cope with the possibility of loosing the voice as a result of the treatment which he had to undergo, at a time when the world was seriously worried about his health. Josep Carreras answered that what was priority was to get back to normal life: he strongly believed that if he recovered, he would have sung again. And that's what happened.
◦ In this last link, there is the promo video of an exclusive interview to the two tenors for Pronto RT. In the fragment of the promo, Carreras says he always believed that it is more important to be the only one than number one, while Domingo claimed the central role of the audience, as without their approval, without that star they put you in your forehead, the artist is nothing.
I would have published earlier this post if I had not waited for the full publication of the interview, scheduled for yesterday. However, only today RT staff assured that the whole interview will be available next Tuesday. Is it a Christmas present?
