Josep Carreras' and Plácido Domingo's charitable activity in Moscow before their concert of tomorrow
In seguito all'arrivo di Plácido Domingo a Mosca avvenuto domenica, l'attività insieme a Josep Carreras ha avuto inizio ieri mattina con la loro visita presso l'Ospedale Pediatrico Filatov, per un evento benefico durante il quale hanno trascorso un po' di tempo insieme ai bambini, parlato con loro, e consegnato un assegno destinato all'acquisto di materiale ospedaliero necessario. Prima ancora di questa visita, il due tenori hanno tenuto delle masterclasses ad un altro gruppo di bambini che fanno parte di coro parrocchiale della Chiesa di San Michele Arcangelo. Carreras e Domingo hanno dato loro consigli preziosi sul canto, ed hanno condiviso aneddoti delle loro primissime esperienze professionali: Josep Carreras ha accennato alla sua performance de La Donna è mobile del Rigoletto per la Radio Nazionale di Spagna a soli 8 anni, mentre Domingo, a quell'età cominciava ad interessarsi al pianoforte.
Carreras, che come Domingo ha sempre amato la musica, godendo soprattutto del privilegio che questa coincida con la sua professione, è ammirato dalla passione che questi bambini esprimano per il canto.
I due tenori hanno autografato una tastiera in segno di ricordo di questo incontro così speciale, ed hanno firmato anche per i bambini del coro.

Oggi l'incontro con il Presidente Vladimir Putin (video), e stasera si terrà invece la cerimonia di inaugurazione del Terminal A dell'Aeroporto Internazionale Vnukovo di Mosca, alla quale i due tenori prenderanno parte e si esibiranno per un duetto: tuttavia, il loro concerto straordinario è previsto per domani, 19 Dicembre, presso la Sala dei Concili della Chiesa di Cristo Salvatore. Ad accompagnarli, la migliore orchestra di stato, la Russia National Orchestra diretta eccezionalmente da David Giménez. Come già annunciato, le prove si svolgeranno presso la Helikon Opera.
Si tratta di un concerto di Natale, privato e con finalità benefiche: i proventi sono destinati al sostegno dei bambini con disabilità e alle famiglie con basso reddito.

◦ After Plácido Domingo's arrival in Moscow on Sunday, the activity together with Josep Carreras began yesterday in the morning, with their visit at the Filatov Children's Hospital, for a charity event during which they spent some time with children patients, talking with them: they also handed over a check for the purchase of necessary equipement for the hospital. The first photo of this event was published yesterday, and shows Carreras and Domingo with Yalena Sever, Federation Fund organizer. More pictures of the event have been published today.
◦ Even before this visit, the two tenors had held masterclasses to another group of children who are part of the the Archangel Michael Church choir. Carreras and Domingo gave them useful tips on singing, and shared anecdotes of their early experiences: Josep Carreras mentioned his performance of La Donna Mobile from Rigoletto for the National Radio of Spain when he was only 8, while Domingo, at that age, was beginning to take an interest in the piano.
Carreras like Domingo, has always loved music, and is well concious of the privilege that music is his profession: he admired the passion that those children expressed for singing.
The two tenors have signed a keyboard as a sign of memory of such special meeting, and signed for the children of the choir too.
◦ Today the have met the russian President Vladimir Putin, while the ceremony of inauguration of Terminal International Airport Vnukovo in Moscow will be held this evening:, and our tenors will take part and might be performing a duet: however, their extraordinary concert is scheduled for tomorrow, December 19, at the Councils Hall of Christ the Saviour's Church. The best orchestra in Russia, the Russia National Orchestra conducted exceptionally by David Giménez, will perform with them. As previously announced, the rehearsals will be held at the Helikon Opera.
This is a Christmas concert, private and with charitable purposes: the proceeds are going to support children with disabilities and low income families.
