"Il Video della Settimana": Josep Carreras i Núria Feliu canten "Un petó més amor meu" (One more kiss dear) by Vangelis
Benvenuti per un nuovo Video della Settimana.
Dopo lo splendido concerto con cui Josep Carreras ha aperto il Festival Jardins Palau Reial Pedralbes con un repertorio incentrato sui grandi classici di Broadway, con i grandi brani dei musical più amati e qualche frammento delle colonne sonore di film intramontabili, vorrei proporre oggi qualcosa di analogo, cogliendo l'occasione di scrivere questo post che avevo pensato ormai da tempo.
Ascoltare la bellissima versione di Be my love del concerto a Pedralbes inevitabilmente mi ha ricordato un altra versione che amo molto, ovvero il duetto che ha cantato durante la trasmissione televisiva "Al caliu de la Feliu" proprio insieme a Núria Feliu, con accompagnamento al pianoforte del Maestro Antoni Parera Fons. Ho già proposto questo duetto che amo moltissimo in una precedente versione del Video della Settimana che se non sbaglio risale allo scorso ottobre, se volete potete rileggere il post qui.
Nello stesso post avevo menzionato l'album che avevano inciso insieme, dal titolo "Més que mai", pubblicato nel 1985: nella tracklist figura anche il brano di oggi, intitolato Un petó més amor meu.
Un petó més amor meu è una versione riadattata da J.M. Andreu dell'originale One more kiss dear del musicista e compositore greco Vangelis, colonna sonora di Blade Runner di Ridley Scott del 1982, uno dei più celebri film di fantascienza.
Benché siano due artisti di natura differente, la stessa complicità che si riscontra nel video di Be my love la trovate anche in questa versione catalana di One more kiss dear, con testo di Josep Maria Andreu. Qui le due voci di Sants coincidono solamente sul finale,alternandosi per tutta la durata del brano: Núria Feliu ha un timbro di carattere, unico, che si sposa perfettamente con questo genere di musica, e infatti rientra nel suo variegato repertorio; chi, invece, istintivamente non ci aspetteremmo di sentire interpretare un brano dalle sonorità affini a quelle del jazz, forse un po' swing o anche soul, è un cantante d'opera, ma in questo caso Josep Carreras ci ha riservato grandi sorprese: il tenore ha saputo limitare, o addirittura reprimere la sua natura eminentemente lirica mostrandosi capace di una incredibile versatilità. Lo riconosciamo dal timbro inconfondibile e dal suo fraseggio delizioso che risalta pienamente anche qui, ma il volume lirico lascia spazio ad un'emissione appena accennata, calda e suadente, quasi a voler appena accarezzare la musica: Josep, infatti, ha sempre rimarcato l'importanza di adeguarsi ad ogni stile e saper dare ad ogni brano ciò che gli corrisponde e qui il risultato ottenuto è più che evidente.
Mi è stato raccontato che Núria Feliu desiderava espressamente realizzare una versione di questo brano proprio con Josep Carreras proprio perché lui ne era innamorato: si tratta infatti di una canzone molto bella cui entrambi infondono una grande personalità con un meraviglioso approccio intimo di estrema dolcezza. Godetevelo!!!
Trattandosi di un brano che ama molto non posso non dedicarlo al nostro Josep, ma in modo speciale anche alla grande Núria Feliu, che so che segue il blog, in segno di tutta la mia ammirazione ed affetto. Ai due figli del Barri de Sants e grandi ambasciatori della terra e cultura catalana... a Núria e Josep, e alla splendida amicizia che li lega da tanti anni.

After the wonderful concert with which Josep Carreras opened the Festival Jardins Palau Reial Pedralbes with a repertoire focused on the great classics of Broadway, with some of the best tracks of the most popular musicals and a few fragments of timeless film soundtracks, today I would like to propose something similar, taking the opportunity to write this post I had been thinking for some time.
When I listen to the wonderful version of Be my love of the concert in Pedralbes, it inevitably reminded me of another version that I really love, which is the duo from "Al caliu de la Feliu" , the TV program presented by Núria Feliu, with pianist Maestro Antoni Parera Fons. I had already proposed this duet that I love very much in an earlier version of the Video of the Week that, if I'm not wrong, dates back to October 2012. If you want you can read the post again here.
In the same post I had mentioned that they had recorded an album together, titled "Més que mai" released in 1985:Un petó més amor meu, today's song, is part of the tracklist.
Un petó més amor meu is a special version adapted by Josep M. Andreu, taken from the original One more kiss dear by the greek musician and composer Vangelis, soundtrack of Blade Runner by Ridley Scott, one of the most famous science fiction movie, released in 1982.
The same complicity, even though they are two completely different artists, which you can notice in the video of Be my love, can be found out also in this Catalan version of One more kiss dear, with lyrics by Josep Maria Andreu. Here the two voice of Sants coincide only at the end, while they exchange each others throughout the whole song: Núria Feliu has a particular, unique timbrethat fits perfectly with this kind of music, and in fact it is part of her varied repertoire, while someone we would not expect he could interpret such a song, similar to jazz, a little swing, kind of sound, is an opera singer, but in this case Josep Carreras took us by great surprises: the tenorwas able to limit, or even suppress his eminently operatic nature showing to be capable of incredible versatility.
We can well recognize his unique timbre and his lovely phrasing that stands out fully here, but the lyric volume makes space to a very soft emission, warm and seductive, just as if to caress the music: Josep, in fact, has always stressed the importance to adapt to any style and be able to give each song what corresponds to it, and here the result is more than evident.
I was told that Núria Feliu expressly wished to make a duet of this song with her friend Josep Carreras, because he was so much in love with it: it is a very nice, sweet song which both instill in with a great personality, with a wonderful intimate, tender approach. Enjoy it!
Since this is a song he loved so much I cannot but dedicate it to our Josep, but especially to the great Núria Feliu, who also follows this blog, as a show of my admiration and affection for her. To the two kids of Sants District in Barcelona, great ambassadors of Catalan land and culture... to Núria and Josep, and their wonderful friendship for so many years.
